Using Your Filing Cabinet

Your Filing Cabinet can be used to save newspaper pages and searches for easy access. It also allows you to organize your own folder structure just the way you like it. This tutorial will explain how to:

Add Newspaper Pages to Your Filing Cabinet

To add a newspaper page to your Filing Cabinet, click the "Add to Filing Cabinet" button while viewing the page you would like to add.

Once you have clicked on the "Add to Filing Cabinet" button, you will be asked to choose a folder. If you have not created a folder yet, you can save it in the "My Filing Cabinet" folder and move it to a new folder later.

Add Searches to Your Filing Cabinet

To add a search to your Filing Cabinet, click the "Save This Search" button while viewing your search results.

Once you have clicked on the "Save This Search" button, you will be asked what folder you would like to save your search to. If you have not created a folder yet, you can save it in the "My Filing Cabinet" folder and move it to a new folder later.

Using the Filing Cabinet Toolbar

The toolbar is located at the top of your Filing Cabinet and allows you to create folders, move and delete files, or add a page to the shopping cart as a full-size reproduction print.

Creating a Folder in Your Filing Cabinet

The Filing Cabinet has a left and right side. The left side displays the folder structure of the file cabinet and the right side displays the contents of the folder you have selected from the left side.
To create a new folder:
  1. Select a folder from the left side where you would like to position a new folder
  2. Then click on "Create New Folder" from the toolbar. A new folder will be created in the right area of the filing cabinet; you can then type in the desired name of the folder.

Deleting Items From Your Filing Cabinet

The Filing Cabinet allows you to delete single files, multiple files or entire folders all at once. To remove files:
  1. Select the folder that contains the file you wish to delete from the left hand side of your page. Selecting the folder from the left will display its contents in the right viewing area.
  2. Locate the file you wish to delete and click the checkbox next to it, then click "Delete Selected" from the toolbar.
To delete an entire folder, select the parent folder. The contents of the folder you have selected will display in the right hand side of the page. Click the checkbox next to the folder you wish to delete, and then click "Delete Selected" from the toolbar. Note: Deleting a folder will also delete all of its contents.

Moving Items In Your Filing Cabinet

To move items in your filing cabinet:
  1. Select the folder that contains the file or files you wish to move from the left hand side of your page. Selecting the folder from the left will display its contents in the right viewing area.
  2. Locate the file you wish to move and click the checkbox next to it, then click "Move Selected" from the toolbar. This will display a "move to" selection bar where you can select the folder you would like to move your files to.
  3. Click on "move" and your selected files will move to the folder you had specified.
To move an entire folder, first select the parent folder. The contents of the folder you have selected will display in the right hand side of the page. Click the checkbox next to the folder you wish to move, and then click "Move Selected" from the toolbar. Finally, choose the folder you would like to move your pages to and click "Move." Note: Moving a folder will also move all of its contents.

Adding Items to Your Cart

The Filing Cabinet allows you to easily add any newspaper page to your cart to purchase it as a reproduction print. To add newspaper pages to your cart:
  1. Select the folder that contains the file or files you wish to add to your cart from the left hand side of your page. Selecting the folder from the left will display its contents in the right viewing area.
  2. Locate the file you wish to add to your cart and click the checkbox next to it. Then, click on "Add Selected to My Cart as a Print" from the toolbar. This will add the selected newspaper page(s) to your cart as a reproduction print. Repeat Step 2 to add other newspaper pages to your cart.
If you are ready to checkout, click the shopping cart icon located in the upper left side of your screen, as this will take you to view the contents of your cart. Here, you will select information for your print order, such as the color of paper you wish to have your paper printed on, the quantity of prints, and the shipping method.
Note: Selecting a folder and clicking on "Add Selected to My Cart as a Print" will add each newspaper page in that folder to your cart.

Renaming Files and Folders

Your Filing Cabinet allows you to easily rename both folders and files. This can help you keep your Filing Cabinet organized to your liking. To rename a file or folder in your Filing Cabinet:
  1. Select the folder that contains the file or folder you wish to rename. Selecting the folder from the left will display its contents in the right viewing area.
  2. Click the "rename" link next to the file or folder that you would like to rename. This will give you a text box with the current name of the file or folder filled in.
  3. Clear out the current file or folder name and type in the desired name. Click the "save" link, your file name changes will be applied.
