Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - November 27, 1875, Winnipeg, Manitoba City and provincial the Victoria skating rink committee will meet this evening at the grand Cen trial. It is understood that mayor Kennedy will offer himself for re election. A requisition asking him to do so has been in circulation for some Days. Moberly suggests the desirability of the government granting an appropriation for Mak ing a Road to their settlement from the red River across the marshes during the whiter for though bridged now by the Winter frosts they Are entirely impassible a missionary sermons and meet ing. Missionary sermons will be preached in Grace Church on Sabbath next at am by the Rev George Young and at Paa by Rev or Robertson pastor of knew Church. A collection in Aid of the Mission fund of the Church will be taken up at the close of each service. The annual missionary meeting will be held on wednesday evening the 1st Decem Ber commencing at his Honor the Lieut governor in the chair. Addresses on the subject of Christian missions May be expected from the following speakers Viz eve or Robertson Rev m Fawcett the mayor of Winnipeg Thos Nixon Seq and others. As governor Morris has recently visited several Points where this society has missions among the indians his address will doubtless be one of special interest. The choir of the Church will assist during the evening. The usual collection in Aid of the fund. All Are cordially invited. Raid inks. Pop Viceroy arrived la town this morning. They have for seve ral years Post been engaged in holding revival services in various parts of Ontario in connexion with the methodist episcopal Church. The friends of that Churell have rented the the stage office and Are fitting it up for or. Pomeroy commences he work in that build ing at 7 o clock this evening ;
