Thanksgiving Day. Services in the City churches yesterday. The congregations of the several churches celebrated thanksgiving Day with appropriate services. In the Church of England am presbyterian churches services were held a each congregation. In holy Trinity can Rel the service was held in the evening when Rev. Canon Matheson preached. In Chris Church and St. George s Church the rectors Keva. E. S. W. Pentreath and j. J. Roy con dulled services in the morning. In Knox and St. Andrew s churches the respective pastors. Rev. . Duval and Rev. Jos. Hogg officiated and in Augustine Church Rev Thos. Mcpherson of Stratford ont preached. de in holding a thanksgiving service in Grace Church. The pastors of three of them. Revs. James Allen a. C. Crowds and c. E. Staf Ford of Grace Zion and Mcdougall respectively were present and took part and Rev principal Sparling presided. Rev. Messes Allen and Stafford delivered addresses. The congregationalists held a Union service in Thi Central Church where a Lermon was preach by Rev. J. K. Unsworth. Service was also held by the baptists. The choirs in mos cases Sang appropriate anthems and hymns Halifax nov. Services were held in All the City churches to Day Rev. Owing doubtless to the numerous counter attractions last evening there was not a very arge audience at the Princess when prof Forris educated dogs and the Millar Diramio tour of the world were presented. But those who were there enjoyed a most interesting and delightful performance. The dogs performed some Clever feats indicating Bat their Early education had not Een neglected and that their Intelli gence was almost on a Par with hat of the human race. They did everything but talk and one even attempted Oread. The dogs which numbered nearly to score were warmly applauded especially n the jumping contest troied the enthusiasm of the entire audience.
