Hole Winnipeg president the provincial Liberal association. And senator Job Watson Portage la. Prairie. Mi1. Bold addressed the meeting lust and in an exhaustive of View of the management of provincial affairs during the last thre i years made Plain How hollow had been the Ante election pledges of the conservative party Haw faithless they had been to the Trust reposed in Thi m and How recklessly they have administered the affairs of the pro Vince in opening to dealt with the question of independents and showed How much More effective work could be done by independents within the party than by independents who had no party and who had to work from the outside in Stead of from within. The speaker then took up the discussing of the questions of the Day. His speech was an intelligent presentation facts by a business Man to business men and was enthusiastically received. Particularly telling was his criticism the Mani Toba government s transportation pol icy and of Premier Koblin s flippant boast that he had solved the ques Tion. Or. Bole pointed out that what the country required was More Chan Nels of outlet More railways not fewer and that in paying the Northern Pacific to go out and in keeping it out the government had deprived the Farmers of Manitoba of the use of the splendid equipment of that Road which would have been Able to have drawn out a much larger proportion of Grain than the Canadian Northern railway had been Able to do. Indirectly the government had also removed a powerful rival of the c. P. Rival which would have forced the c. P. K. For the Sake of its own reputation to greater efforts in the Supply of cars and motive Power. In this connection he also commented on the government s abandonment of the Hudson s Bay railway scheme and expressed the belief that if the assist Ance which had been Given the can Adian Northern for such doubtful consideration had been Given in Aid of a legitimate Hudson s Bay railway the Road would be built to Day.
