Twenty men had been removed up to Midnight seven of them Deffe and the remainder badly and several fatally burned. Three dead bodies and Tho unconscious forms of six men were removed from the mine at 9.30 o clock and a Large of men Are still working with desperate Energy in an Effort to save the lives of the score of miners still entombed. Doctors Are being hurried to the scene from nearby towns and tha whole neighbourhood is in a fever of excitement. The names of the dead men have not been ascertained. Shift smaller than usual. The mine was being worked night and Day but Only a Small Sli Ift went on this afternoon when the explosion occurred All the men in the mine were shut off from escape and As some of them Are known to be deep in the the Chance of reaching them is very Remote. The explosion is believed to have been caused by poisonous gases Ami dissemination of these with the air lines Cut off would speedily bring death to those entombed. The explosion it is understood caused a heavy fall of Rock and Coal which Cut off the outlet of the men who were working in that part of the mine. Rescue party starts work. News of the disaster spread quickly and within a minutes of the explosion a Rescue party had been organized and started the struggle to save the lifes of those entrapped. Relatives of the entombed men Are gathered a the mine and several tragic scenes have already been witnessed. The Ray or Hope held out that All or Many May be saved is not sufficiently Strong to Pierce Ting loom of despair that is already settling Down. It is even understood he will make his last trip As member to Edmonton this week when he returns from Cardston where he has been for the past few Days. He has disposed of All his interests in Southern Alberta Only within the past few Days having sold his big ranch Nair Cardston. He has Large interests in Nevada and will remove there very shortly.
