In evidence of the Liberal sympathy with the Temperance advocates. Or. Loyns intersected. If it were not for the liquor interests the Roblin government would not be in Power for the past two the banish the bar movement was defined by pres. Haverson As a plan to have legislation enacted to prohibit the Sale of liquor retail Over the bar or in clubs. This would leave Only tha wholesale Trade. Speaking of the pres ent government s pledges and its re lation to the liquor business he said the word to fit in would better be left a uttered it would be better imagined than described. Or. August acknowledged the Call to duty which he was unwilling to s Hirk. While he would accept the Call he declared his personal Freedom As an in dependent Liberal and was cheered for it. The convention he pointed out was for liberals and those opposed to the Roblin govern ment. He came under both classifications but if there should come a crisis in which he believed the Liberal Paris was not act ins for the Best interests of the coun try he would break with it on that question. Party spirit he held had become too strong1 for the Sood of the country and though he had no Faith in a third party he Felt the object of a third party co uld be Best served by the Independent affiliations of such As himself. He declared for a referendum on banish the bar and for direct legislation. He also appealed to his friends for a clean fluff it. Preferring to to do we in a clean fight to winning by corruption. As for the purchasable vote or. August declared that it would so to the highest bidder and they All knew who that would be. Certainly not the opposition. Laughter his bold straightforward Little talk was brought to a close with an Appeal to the liberals and those opposed to the present a government to stand firmly together and win Dufferin. A last word was added to warn All against carelessness in the revision of the lists not to accept any but to see that the Ris it list was the one on which the Feht names Are registered. Finally. Or.
