He ii a bought a machine and had taken the precaution to have endorsed on the application that he reserved tile right to get a loan of on his place and also endorsed the Lien notes in the same Way. Three Days before the loan was to be registered against the land the implement company registered a caveat which was he declared a distinct breach of the under standing. The explanation Given by the company was that they did not acquiesce in the reservation agreed to by their agent. Or. Lamb said he also knew of Sev eral cases of hardship experienced by others. Tha next witness was John h. Mcdonald of Little Woody. He had been appointed by the Grain growers association of his District to represent them. He had bought a separator whilst a neighbor bought. The engine and they tooth had trouble with the settlement. His neighbor understood he was buying a 16 . Engine but Only got a 12 . One. Or. Mcdon Ald understood that he was to get the separator for and signed an agreement to that effect. If Cash was paid he was to get discount. The notes the company asked him to sign in settlement for the separator amounted to these he signed at the station being told by the agent that it was the proper amount. He lived 28 Miles from the station and had t the agreement with him. He claimed that he had to pay at local Points from 25 to 30 per cent More for the repairs he bought than what they were listed for in the manufacturer s Price list. He snowed receipts which he had which proved this when com pared to the Price list which he also exhibited. W. S. Metheral of Weyburn appeared before the commission As Secretary of the Grain growers association. He had no personal com plaints to make he but had some suggestions to offer. These were that credit should be restricted an d agents prohibited from canvassing the farm ers. His reasons for this were that often Farmers yielded to the solicitations of the agents and bought when they did t need the machinery. And then agents had to be paid and there fore their commission added to the Cost of the machinery. There were in All about 40 Farmers present and a deep interest was taken in the work of the commission.
