Liverpool Market closed Friday As follows May lower at 11s. 10d. July 1d. Lower at 11s. Per 100 pounds. Exchange Canadian funds quoted higher at worked ont bushels and Cana Dian currency Liverpool close was Friday. Thursday May july 1.70% 1.71% Tho wheat Market was very Dull on Friday with Lillo real business going on but the undertone was stubborn and after showing Early weakness when Tho May declined to below Tho close on thursday prices gradually advanced and recovered 4 he but finally closed Vic lower for monday. Liverpool cables came to 2% Pence lower and closed 1 to 2% Pence Down while Seaboard cd reported Export sales overnight were very disappointing being estimated at 100.000 bushels of Manitoba. Bids were stated to be out of line and local exporters wore doing some re Selling while Tho demand for Cash wheat was poor. Offerings were somewhat Liberal during the first part of the session but dried up later and became very scarce which largely accounted for the late and Vance. Tho Chicago Market declined about 3c during the first part of the session but strengthened up later and this helped Tho local Market. The weat Lier map this morning showed additional Rains Over the Southwest with a general improvement in crop conditions. Local sentiment is much divided but Bear ish interests were not pressing their ideas or opinions today and with fair buying by commission houses both Here and at Chicago with consider Able spreading and switching of Hedges the deferred futures prices advanced from the clips with out much opposition. The undertone did not look very Strong the buying was not of the Best Char Acter and Export business is essential to restore buyers Confidence particularly As Woroft supplies do not appear to be Short of requirements and to the general belief in the Trade that Tho crop Outlook in the United states has been materially bettered by the recent Rains. Coarse grains. These markets were very Dull today and while there was. A Little Export business in Oats there was Noth Lnor do ing of feature in other commodities. Oats prices declined Early about a. But reacted and held fairly Fatmi. Barley was weak breaking about 3c, list re covered fractionally later. The Rye Market was also weaker and showed lower Levels. These markets were Fol lowing the trend of wheat. The flax Market was heavy declining Early about 6c, part of which was re covered later. volume very Light. Cash wheat Market. With Trade very Small there was no marked improvement in the Cash wheat Market today. Occasionally Odd cars came out but these were sold at prices unchanged from yesterday. Export circles showed practically no interest and the milling demand was stagnant. In the contract grades there was a Little inquiry but shipment was for May june and july. Wheat in any of the future positions was not being pressed for Sale on account of the unsatisfactory condition of the Cash wheat Market. Elevator stocks held in the country Are about a Small As Ever they have been in recent years at this time. With May futures at a Premium Over july there is no reason Why these stocks will not be shipped out immediately. This would Mako wheat a very scarce commodity this summer. It is intimated by the Trade that the Farmers have in hand something like bushels. Is an excellent business in All grades of Oats except no. 1 feed and All the available stocks Are Well accounted for and in Strong hands. Is a better tone today in the Barley Market and quotations were a better. Flax and interest in either of these. The weather. The weather in the West Lias unsettled and showery. Oats prices closed Little changed while Barley closed 2 cents to 1 cent lower and Rye 1-2 cent to 1 lower. Spring wheat conditions a the United states Are extremely favourable seeding Lieng finished with the crop making Good Progress under almost Ideal conditions. Seeding in Western Canada is general with considerable Grain showing above ground in the Southern portions of the three provinces. Soil conditions Are excellent and practically every Point i reports an. Abundance of moisture. Coarse continued More Lens dully and coarse markets have continued More or less Dull and in Oats from Day to Day and prices have shown a firmer 354 cents up for the week. There has been a Little business in Barley and Rye but the volume was Small. The feature of the Barley Market has been the transferring of Hedges More Distant futures giving the May a Strong appearance and prices for this delivery Are about 7% cents higher for the week. Rye prices Are up about 1% cents for May Market has continued Dull and featureless Trade Belnac very Light. The Market firm with the slay showing an Advance cents for the week. M markets open one hour earlier monday commencing on monday next april 27, the Winnipeg Grain Exchange and also american Grain Market s will go on Daylight saving opening at 8.30 each morning Ana closing at 12.15, except on saturdays when the markets will close at 11 o clock. Oats weakened with Corn Al though Trade was fairly Good but mostly of a changing character. There was considerable Selling of deferred months on the general Rains recorded Over the Oats Belt. Primary receipts were Light and Cash demand Only fair. The crop Prospect still keeps out Side buying Power at a minimum. Broomhall s Cable. Live poor april the demand for wheat is not very Active and the heavier tone in Chicago and Winnipeg markets yesterday has influenced buy ers to hold off to some extent. Millers have not been following the Advance recently. The consumptive demand for Corn is less Active. Weather is Spring like. Argentine clearances of wheat from the Argentina this week Are larger amounting to almost a Ninon bushels compared with Bush Els last. Week.
