Stores to let in new building Portage and main a2341 continued from Paire 1 cats Are most promising Given fair conditions although generally not Ery tall. What wheat there is is standing Ell and starting to Ripen but the same Lack of abundant Mlo Lesture has hurried Many a Good looking crop to a fair one Only. Bust is less Neie Man farther South and Law Fly Al most absent. Durum u not very plentiful just Here but Serena to have. Tbod the season better than any As t la thick on the ground and prob ably a Little better filled than Hie Marquis. East of Woodnorth the crops be come less frequent and weeds More abundant. One Field of flax North of Woodnorth was Weir balled and1 be finning to turn but another West of that Point was just blossoming an d Only just recognizable in masses of yellow Mustard. On one farm ant outfit was employed putting up cultivated Hay of a Large Field of ten Lothy and Meadow fescue. Some Fields of buckwheat in Flower were also seen. Just East of Ebor a Field of Barley was seen few straws Down As f from Hall but the damage was negligible. South of the town one Field also of Barley Havo caught it badly but the ruinous appearance was explained upon elimination when tracks of a four Lorae team were found passing from he farmstead to a gravel pit North of Sinclair a Shower had moistened the ground the. Previous night but it was very local. It should fill the late crops Init has Dis Rich Well however. A Field of mar quis in excellent shape with a Good tand Long Heads and a number of old Row set deletes. Bust is not bad Here but will affect the crops which Are in the majority. In spite of rumours of Grasshoppers Here were hone to be fou Jid the report May have from the numbers of dragonfly which Fly up and the Radiator of the car much As Grasshoppers do it the resemblance ends there. Sawfly found Sawfly did not appear until after the Turp eastward from person. Trom there through Elva Melia it is to be found in about half the stems although no Straw is Down yet. It is also to be in. The durum stems but apparently less Nan in the Marquis. On this stretch the crops Only More continuous but appear rather better on the whole wild Oats Are fewer but by no Means absent and there Are not to Many examples of Oats stalled by the heat just out of the shot Blade. On the contrary the Early ones seem to be filling fairly Well but have been hurried into ripening by the dry conditions. The later ones Are bet Ter and stand quite Well but need a rain to fill them before they r finish. The wheat stands thick on the set there was scarcely any but in the Low Levels it is always there. Bast of Miami a Field of durum was very thick in stand and excellently filled but a lot of it Down the rain had not been heavy Here so it will probably stay Down. The crops from Here East Are a Little More advanced than through the Hills and generally a Little less luxuriant except the wheat. If anything this rets being mostly Marquis but from Miami to Roland there Are quite a few Good Fields of the durum. From Roland to Morris the wild Oats Are worse than Ever. The first crop of tame Oats was Cut and stacked. The Island. Seemed to have been Good but oat itself was very thin. Other Oats were seen in Stook later some on blowing but one crop turned out to be Barley when the wild Oata were penetrated. An other Field had a sprinkling of miserably thin wheat ears to represent the sown crop while the wild Oats occupied the ground floor. Tula mix Ture was being Cut and raked up. A Field of Sweet Clover near Myrtle showed a Good second growth while 14 stacks of sheaves represented the crop. Sow Thistle gets very bad from Myrtle to Morris having been present in Small quantities from farther West. Many Fields Are submersed in it and Mustard is bad in the Fields of which there Are Only a few. Barley where the wild Oats Are not too bad looks very Well indeed. Most is Cut. The Rye which is also nearly All Cut improves just Here and at Morrw a Field was found show ing a very Good Berry indeed and Stooks very thick on1 the around. Durum again begins to appear North of Morris but Marquis is still the Rule. I tip the Emerson Highway the vary very Little. Some wheat is Cut seems fairly plump in Berry but May shrink from rust. The weeds Are much Leas and the farms have. A More attractive appearance generally. The Home investment association ground is pretty Treut filled although the rust is rather worse than farther North. Barley is by far the largest crop in but does not stand very thickly As a Rule nor Long in the Straw. The head vary in length from one Inch to three and the berries Are plump. Oats Are the next biggest crop but will Only yield fairly. Isolated Fields Are very Good indeed As the season goes being tall of fair stand and filling Well. Durum is the largest wheat crop although the percentage varies every few Miles. It is filling excellently. Some Fine the Best Fields for Miles Wem seen on the Deloraine Hartney Road where there were fewer Weed and better stands of both kinds of wheat also Mindum Barley Ana Oats. Five Miles North of Deloraine where the route from Melita joins this Road is a Quarter Section of the Best wheat in a Day s Anarch. It la thick on the ground fairly Long in the head and filling Well not very Rusty con Taining tout Little Sawfly and exceptionally clean. The cleanly needs is i further enhanced by a strip mowed clean along the Edge. Inside the Fence. Several Fields of Mindum were seen on this Road which Are ready to Cut and should yield Well. Barley and Oats were not so outstanding Al though better than the average be no Good in stand and Well filled. Wild Oats were much in evidence in these crops. A Field of yellow Sweet Clover Mada a gorgeous Ratcli of color a. Few Miles South of Hartney. Sugiu. And Fairfax to Minto the stands continue very fair but the Jame trouble of Early Oats and Barley aristocratic Quality. The world s Best Bourbon. Bourdon whiskey Boffl Eduond under Federal government supervision ripening with an insufficient ind wheat not so plump or Well leaded As it might be appears again. Ivald Oats Are somewhat worse ind i Little russian Thistle is to be seen in the Roadside. The Marquis wheat makes a air ing spectacle from the Road an it Vitands even generally clean and just on the turn. Examination reveals a slim Ness of head which is Hess thrilling however Ani there is still the rust and a Little Sawfly. Tho country shows a Large number of Fields in Stook mostly and the sheaves seem to weigh vory Well in spite of or perhaps because , the Short stands. There is Little Rye and it seems a Little thinner on the ground and not so plump of Berry As the crops Twenty Miles South. Flax is scarce end not very Onwu on although the occasional _ Field is Well headed and fair in stand at Ninette through Belmont. And Baldur the oat begin to be really Fine. They Are generally later aia Are All crops less cutting having been done Here but they stand thick tall and with Heads filling Well. The torrential rain which soaked the country Here Early Friday morning should do them Tood and finish them Well. Meanwhile the were Only just passable. There Are also some excellent stands of wheat but the rust is plentiful and turning Black. The berries when . Frequently show some Fehrl Niage. The wild Oats have been with us All the Way and Are in All. A lures sometimes they take charge of com plete portions a Field. Barlev is generally Good but the cleanest was a crop on the Roadside extending a mile East of Baldur. It was half and showed a Good Berry. Sow Thistle begins to occur again at Greenway but does not get bad until farther East. Marauin. Or Sam Jar cheats Are the hereabouts. There s Little Sawfly. It Deal of rust but the stands Are excellent and the Heads fair. Oven on the beards state of the crop doing damage. It was a thick Cjon Rand very Well filled. There is 11toe of anything Cut hereabouts Rye be no scarce and the Barley .
