Six Cement plants on the North and South american continents have been awarded such a Monument since 1925. But Only two of them obtained a perfect record. Before representatives of the provincial government the City and of various organizations As Well Asem Plo yees of the Plant the Monument was unveiled yesterday afternoon with impressive ceremony. Speakers spoke of the occasion a unique in the annals of Winnipeg s history for it marked a distinct advancement in the Campaign to prevent accidents among the Industrial work ers of the province. The actual unveiling was conducted by Dobson. Of Ershaw. Alta. An employee of the company and the daughter of one of its oldest workers. J. R. Dow rec superintendent of Plant 13, was in charge of ceremonies and introduced the various speakers. A. J. R. Curtis Chicago assistant to the Gen eral manager of the Portland Cement organization which donated the the Dedica tory speech. They submitted it was unfair to taxpayers of a residential area. R. F. Mcwilliams for or. Kershaw. Stated there had been no underhand a tidiness in the matter. A representative of West Minster Church said that a meeting of the Church Board was called and every member present opposed a theatre so close.
