Hen a Man talks about marriage after taking a girl out twice Sheris Wise to disc count everything . Love at first sight is possible but Buncom and the writer of this letter should be very cautious she says dear . Thompson i am a girl 18 years old and recently met a boy whom i think the world of. He is 22. I have Only been out with. Him time and he has spoken of marriage 1 just laugh but it will a a different tune w Hen the time comes which i Hope will be next summer. How Ever i pretend not to mean any thing by it for it came so suddenly . Thompson to know whether we Are Well suited to each other because i want a successful marriage. He. Tells me i am cold towards him which i cannot under stand. He thinks my manner is cold when i answer questions but i Don t mean it that Way. How should answer her boy Friend also How should a girl show her affection when a boy s affection is so Strong and she is backward i certainly Don t want to . Worried. You Are a Wise girl not to let the boy see How much of a flutter he has caused. If you made it Plain that you were ready to fall into his on such Short acquaintance he might lose interest or think you were a pretty easy Mark. On. The other hand if you give him a Little encouragement but also keep him guessing he will be More Likely to remain attentive. The Only Way you can find out whether you Are Well suited to each other or not is to see him often for a period of weeks or months. If you continue to enjoy each other s com Pany and conversation if you can spend an evening just sitting at Home talking without being bored if you find you have numerous tastes and interests in. If you agree on important matters like Money morals and amusements you can be fairly sure that you would make a Success of marriage. Frankly i Don t like the sound of set up at the Young Man is much too Hast if he does t mean what about marriage he has no business to bring up the subject. If he does mean it he is Foolhardy. He can t Tell after two that you Are backward about show feelings. Make him put the brakes on his own demonstrations of affection and refuse to allow any casual Good night kiss. You can rest assured if he really cared anything about you he will think More of you for taking this attitude and will try All the harder to impress you. Of course if he regards you merely As another skirt he May move on to somebody who is More responsive. But he would-.-, do that anyway sooner or later if All he wants is a temporary thrill you won t lose anything by refusing to cheapen yourself. As for appearing cold when you answer questions probably you Are shy and self conscious and sound abrupt build up Confidence in yourself by being careful of your appearance and try to answer him naturally As you would answer any other Friend.
