It was recognizable As St. James s Palace which contains York House within its time stained Walls. The Law of associations got to work right away and you then knew for sure what you were missing who you were missing. For you remembered the Man who lived As a Bachelor within those Walls for a Good Many years a Man whom you Don t yet think of As Middle aged. As the bus rolled on the unmistakable conviction came to me the. I he is badly missed by every one and no doubt no More so than by those who refuse Ever to men Tion his. Name. He is missed All right and there surely Are unhealed scars on the consciences of men in High places who never would own up to that they Transfer to him the blame they must feel upon their own souls and Call him such names As that Little or they will complain he let us per haps both allegations have their elements of truth except that they leave out of the picture the unhappy truth that in tragedy the blame is Seldom All on one Side of the slate. Matter for history but these impressions of a Visi Tor to London need not Deal with will be for history to mull Over. I merely record that i believe this Man is badly missed. He often was away in the years gone by but you knew then he was out in Canada or Africa and soon i would be coming Home again to be welcomed by his father and Mother at Victoria station and to wave his hands at cheering crowds. He is missed and no one can take his place. Some of the warming heart of our generation Hac gone out of London with his passing to another land.
