Misses Winnifred Yuill and Ger Trude Dobbyn attended As brides maids the former wearing Pink lace and a stiffened Halo. She car when he visits girl Friend by mrs Elizabeth Thompson it is common for mothers of Young girls to be concerned when their daughters stay out later than expected but As a Rule mothers of boys Are less inclined to worry. However they too can become excited and cause embarrassing situations As this letter shows dear mrs. Thompson i am a girl 18 years old and have sister 17. She has a boy Friend and recently a chum of his coming to see me. Since the boys have been coming around my Mother has told us they should not stay later than 10.30 except for some special reason. The other night one of the boys stayed until 11 and his Mother came after him. My sister answered the door. The Mother asked if her son was Here and my sister told her he was ask ing her to come in. She said she would not. You see mrs. Thomp son no one in our family had met her. She walked right off Home with her son and went straight by my Mother without saying a Rord. What is worrying Mother and us girls is what Mother should have done. She has never been in a situation like this before. Should she have or what we girls have lived in this neighbor Hood Ever since we were born and have a character above reproach. Mother has never allowed us to stand around Street Corners hang around schools Etc. We have Al ways been told to bring our friends Home. So you see Mother has been very strict and this has been a hard blow. Was the boy s Mother right in acting As she did How do you think she will feel towards her son s girl Friend How should the girl act when she. Meets the boy or his Mother should the girl go and have a talk with the Mother worried. This is a Case of least said soonest and the girl certainly should not have a talk with the boy s Mother. After All what would she say there is no need to apologize for entertain ing a Young Man in a respectable Home until la o clock. It was his own fault he stayed so late but it was no great crime. Unless the. Boy i very unusual he will be furious with his Mother and feel humiliated and embarrassed by her conduct. No lad around 18 wants to feel tied to his Mother s apron strings. If this woman had said something like i happened to be passing by and wondered if Jack was still it would t have been so bad but to come for the sole purpose of dragging him off in disgrace is enough to destroy All Confidence Between her and her son. However Don t think her action was any reflection on you. Or your sister. It was probably just an exhibition of jealousy and possessiveness. She May be the kind of Mother who hates to see her son show an interest in girls no matter How Sweet and Lovely they May be. It is pathetic when a woman is so wrapped up in her boy that she can t Bear to have him live a Normal life so Don t blame the poor soul. Try to feel sorry for her and Don t let anything she does worry you. Be polite and Friendly if you meet her or the boy. You Don t make it Clear How your Mother came into the picture. If she was in the House and the other woman refused to enter i Don t see How the situation arose. How Ever if your Mother had been out and entered the House As the two were leaving the boy would have spoken to her if he had any Man ners at All then he should have introduced his Mother or she should have said Jack won t you Intro Duce me to mrs. If they kept right on going it was not your Mother s place to Rush after there though if she saw the boy was embarrassed it would have been proper and natural for her to say hello i suppose this is your Mother. How do you do mrs. Anyhow Don t worry about the incident it s the other people s faces which should be red. Ried yellow miss Dobbyn chose lace worn with a stiffened Halo and carried yellow roses. Little Donna Powne the Flower girl wore a frilled mauve Chiffon dress. Or. Hoy Young of Waskada was groomsman and the Ushers were messes. E. Taylor and Alan Mcclure of Desford Man.
