Up All British squadrons in France were brought under a unified air command yesterday to ensure effective support to the British and French armies along the Western front. Air marshal Arthur s. Barratt who won his wings in june 1914, and had a distinguished Hying record in the first great War was Given command of British air forces in France the government s decision ende agitation within the army of unified control of Britain s land an air forces in France under goner Viscount Gorl v.c., commander in chief of the British expeditionary Force. Air marshal Barratt i have equal rank with lord Gor in co operation with him and with the head of the French Ai Force but will be responsible the chief of air staff in Londo sir Cyril Newall and not to Gen Era Gamelin Allied commander in chief.
