Southern markets like Winnipeg were in n rut with Chicago making Only a mild response to reports of a severe cold wave in the wheat Bolt. Some concern was expressed in private reports whether germinated wheat would be injured by the below Zero temperature but it was believed that Snow covering was adequate in Many sections. Local trading was Dull with fair Seaboard support in evidence in Trade and fair Southern buying coming out with the fair offerings appearing. Moderate Selling in the May and july was believed to be in connection with inter Market spreading with Chicago while a Little commission House demand was stimulated by an official denial by United states authorities that the Export St is indy on . Wheat out of he Pacific coast would be renewed. The Buenos Aires Market moved narrowly on thursday with opening to l-2 cent lower and noon prices unchanged to a cent Down. Cloudy weather was again prevail ing in the Argentine and cables indicated that recent Rains had improved the Corn crop. There was Little feature to statistical information with wheat shipments from the Argentine estimated around g74.000 bushels in line with the fairly Large clearances of last week. Black sea wheat ship Mei Ile were placed at 760.000 bushels for the week As against bushels the previous week. There were no shipments from Russia. Cash wheat disclosed a fair de Mand for the lower grades for the opening of navigation particularly three and four Northern and some of the lower grades. There was a suggestion that some transactions had taken place but offerings continued on a Light scale. Coarse Grain dealings uncovered a brisk demand for Oats with the top grades being taken by Domestic interests and exporters. Substantial quantities were said to have worked from Eastern position. Barley continued to at tract attention from exporters but offerings generally in coarse grains were Light. Milling concerns were Good buy ers of Oats in the coarse Grain pit. The amount traded was said to be in excess of 150.000 bushels and in Terest centred on the question of whether this might be connected with a reportedly impending Deal with Finland. Exporters and domes tic interests were also doing some buying of Oats. Fair amounts of Barley changed hands with malt sters and exporters credited with the purchasing.
