Have you Over had the experience of having a Man Tell you that he would t marry you if so what did you do about it i was brought up in the old school where a Man did t propose to a girl unless he wanted her to be his Bride. He thought about it. If he did t want to get married he simply got out of it by not asking the of course in those Days the girls did t ask the boys to marry them. That is not verbally. They just baited the trap. But there seems to be a 1940 Breed of suitor. He asks the girl to marry while unconscious or something then some evening afterwards he gets very confidential and whispers in her Pink car the grand news that he has decided not to get married to her. Now what is tie next move on the part of the girl i know a few girls who would move smoothly and swiftly and smack the Guy Down. I know others who would move just As smoothly and swiftly in a direction away from the boy. If a girl does stick around Why does she do it and How does she proceed from that Point come on let us in on this secret. Here is a letter from a girl who was just struck dumb and does t know what to say or How to act dear or. Antheil i had been going steady with a boy for quite a while when he asked me to marry him. We decided to wait until i finished school. Several times we talked about getting married before that time and i was to stay at Home until then. Several weeks ago. He told me he thought it Best that we did t get married at All. He said he did t think he made enough to support me. I think he does. He wants me to keep his ring and go on see ing him. We Date four and five times a week. I love him and i think he loves me but is afraid of marriage. Why f Don t know. He is 23 and has a Good Job. I m 19 and know by that life in t always a bed of i could talk it Over with our friends but i Don t want to broadcast it. I would like you to Tell to what i should Wilde red. Just what does the boy Friend intend to do if he does t intend to get married to you that is the Point. Does he expect you to cheer him up throughout a Long Bachelor Hood you Are a bit foolish to let him hang around if that is his intention. In the first place no self respecting girl will let a Man hang around after he says he does t want to marry mean if he has Al ready proposed to her. The thing to do is to Send him on his Way. If i is just going through a mood that will Knock him out of the notion if he has fallen out of love with you it is just As Well to skip the probation period before he walks out of your life. This feature appears in the free press wednes Days and fridays Delfoe s column care of your children i j Tice was a Zero hour for babies in the Battle of life. Tor the season that brings babies their worst time. I was not surprised to pick up a York newspaper and read that a sudden june heat wave had been accompanied by a Sharp Rise in the mor Lily rate under one year. Yet there is no reason for the Mother of an infant to become pan icky . There Are Many things she can do to overcome the dangers of her baby s first summer. Re Asur ring herself that with proper care and precaution she can. Get him safely through the warm months is the first thing. It is always in for her to agitate herself by fear or worry. If she is nursing the child such emotions affect the milk and the child suffers. Even if not at breast the baby is disturbed by his Mother s loss of poise and cheerfulness. Next thing for her to do is give thought to the baby s clothing. I think probably a majority of mothers Over dress their babies. Baby like us suffers from the heat but unlike us he can t get up and take his . Neither can he pick cooler shaded spots. These things you must do for him. It May seem unnecessary to Tell mothers How to dress her baby in the summer but i am impelled to do it because so often i have been called to a House when the Mercury was hovering Between 90 and 100, to find a child swathed in enough clothing to keep it warm in Zero weather. When summer heat comes your child should Wear besides his diaper a Light weight dress or Sun suit. Unless it is a cold Day he won t need More than this. And in extremely hot spells the diaper alone is enough. The child should spend most of his Day in a Shady spot outdoors unless the humidity makes it cooler in doors. Only when he is being Given a Sun Bath should he be exposed to the direct rays of the Sun. When the sun1 Bath is begun the front part of the child s body should be exposed to the Sun for a Short carefully measured period. Then turn him Over so the Sun bathes his Back. It s not too much of a precaution use a watch to time baby s expos ure to direct sunlight. A surprisingly Large number of persons Haven t any idea of How time flies. If you think not try using a Stopwatch on your friends guesses of How Long a minute is. The baby s first Sun Bath should not last More than thirty Back. With each succeeding Bath this time can be increased a Little. But Don t lengthen it too quickly because baby s skin is so tender it can get a serious sunburn easily. See to it that the quintuplets get plenty of Sun in the summer. When they go out to play they Wear very thin Light clothing. Dur ing the first part of this play per Iod there Are usually visitors watching from a screened gallery so the quins Wear More clothes than usual. After the visitors have gone the quins remove some of their clothes and Nlay around in As Little As the weather will permit club events St. John s Temple 8. Pythian Sisters.
