Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - April 23, 1945, Winnipeg, Manitoba Canning sugar coupons explained provision for Home Canning has made by the ration administration the wartime prices and Trade Board this Vear. And in a statement issued by the . The Coupon situation is explained. Instead of special Home Canning coupons 20 extra preserves coupons in Kation Book no. 5 Are made available for the Pur Chase of sugar for Canning. These special preserves coupons will be come valid at varying times during the Canning season. Already two of the extra pre serves coupons have been declared valid. These Are preserves coupons 43 and 44. May 17, preserves coupons 49-56 will be declared valid. Then july 19. Coupons which have been designates As special preserve Thrifty new Way a Pound 10 pounds 80c sheets and Pillow slips table Linen and towels care fully ironed and neatly folded. Dot the top with butter or Lay two or three strips of Bacon Over the top. Bake in a moderate oven 350 Deg. Of until the mixture is very hot and the Bacon if used is Crisp. This should take about 45 minutes or so. Any Type of cake May be used in making the pudding from the plainest of layer cakes or loaf cakes to a Rich fruit cake.
