The petition presented to coun cil by a delegation asked that the area Between the end of Berry Street and Enfield Crescent approximately two City blocks be reserved for the proposed Unity Centre. Spokesman of the delegation j. R. Oakes of 318 traverse Avenue showed Council the petition Bear ing 200 names which he said rep resented 90 per cent of the rate payers in the area immediately affected.
