Scoville president american woman s club will open the Tea. Guests will be received by mrs. M. Larcombe and mrs. J. H. Cathcart. Mrs. J. H. Mccullough is general convener. Culinary clinic sunday dinner quickly prepared n is Lamb chops. They Are nicest if they Are purchased Cut from 1-Inch thick and they May by june Horne ext sunday is the Day that has been set apart this year to pay special tribute to mothers and it has become the custom for members of the family to observe this by showering their maternal Parent with every conceivable kind of gift. Along with this the family usual by stays closer to Home on this Day than they might on Ordinary Sun Days and this nearly always Means that mothers will try to provide something extraordinarily Nice for dinner in reciprocation. In order to provide such a meal however it does t necessarily mean that the Little Mother has to spend Long hours in the Kitchen in preparation. As a matter of fact with a Little forethought it is pos sible to prepare Many exception ally Fine meals in a very Short space of time. We have planned a menu for this sunday this week with this in mind. The appetizer could very Well of a canned fruit juice. Then the whole main course can be quickly prepared if the meat is broiled and previously cooked or canned vegetables Are heated at the same time. Then if a jellied salad is made the Day before and would Only require unfolding before serving. A Frozen would be an excellent and this could be bought it could be made sonic time in Advance at Home. Is the menu we have for Mother s Day dinner Orange juice mixed Grill with vegetables jellied salad Rolls chocolate sundae the feature late Sun of our mixed Grill travel cases of distinction new lower prices 24" pull Kmit pm. 11" with hangers at .s3.75 18" overnight Case at .37.50 14" train pm for Bot let at .37.50 hat ind Cau not illustrated at .55.00 Rort hiter Case hangers ere., not illustrated at .1oo.oo to be either from the loin or rib Section of Iamb. The potatoes and carrots used Are precooked and the peas Are canned. The proportions we Are giving Are sufficient for six serv Ings. Mixed Grill g Lamb chops k pork sausages b strips of Bacon i cooked potatoes 2 cups drained canned peas 6 Small carrots cooked Salt and Pepper method pre heat your broiler until glowing red. Arrange the drained canned peas and the pre cooked carrots which have been Cut in strips or rounds in the Bot Tom of the broiling pan. Dot these with butter and Sprinkle with Salt and Pepper. Now place the broiling rack Over the peas and carrots and arrange the Lamb chops on the rack. Add the sausages and Bacon and then the potatoes which have been halved and brushed with melted fat. Sprinkle with Salt and Pepper. Place the pan under the broiler so that the top surface is about 2 inches from the source of heat. Broil like this for about 8 to 10 minutes then take out and turn the chops sausages and Bacon. If the Bacon is done at this Point re move it to a Platter in the lower part of the oven or broiling compartment. Turn the potatoes too and Brush the second Side with More fat and Sprinkle with Salt and Pepper. Continue broiling for from 8 to 10 minutes longer until the chops Are nicely browned. Should you wish to make your own ice Cream for the dessert Here s a recipe for one that is fairly inexpensive to make. Vanilla the Cream 1w cups milk cups Coffee Cream 2 eggs i Teaspoon Vanilla a cup cup Light Corn syrup 1 Tablespoon Lemon juice method beat the eggs unti thick and Lemon coloured. Add the sugar gradually and continue beat ing until this is All added. Add the Coffee lice. Pour into a place in the freezing unit having the cold freezing. When Frozen remove to a Bow and then Mash it before beating i until Light with a rotary or an electric mixer. Add the Vanilla when it is Light and creamy. Return to the freezing tray Anc replace in the freezing unit Al lowing it to become firm. When the mixture is firm turn the cold control half Way Back to Normal and keep it like this unti the ice Cream is to be used.
