A received his Bachelor of science in graduated from Mcgill University izing in structural engineering. Two appointments result of Hie retirement of prof. E. P. Fether have been announced the Board of governors of the University of Manitoba. Trot. A. E. Macdonald. Chairman the department of civil in has been named to succeed prof. Fetherston Haugh As Dean of the acuity of engineering architecture. Prof. W. F. Rid Dell professor in the department of civil engineering has been promoted to rank of professor and succeeds prof. Macdonald As chairman of the department of civil engineering. Duties born in Halifax. Prof. Macdon Ald has for the past 13 been head of the department of civil engineering at the University of Manitoba. He takes Over his new duties sept. 1. Dean Fetherston Haugh retires aug. 3. Prof. Macdonald attended dal Housie University and the Nova Scotia technical College where he received his Bachelor of science civil engineering. Subsequently graduated with a master of science special prof. F. Kiddell prof. A. E. Mcdonald during world War ii he was retained As supervising Engineer by the steel controller s Branch. Ottawa. As a consultant he has de signed and supervised various foundations and underpinning projects As Well As structures of reinforced Concrete and steel in Winnipeg. Married he has one son and one daughter both students at the University of Manitoba. Dauphin education prof. Hid Dell. A member of the teaching staff of the civil Engineer ing department of the University of Manitoba since 1925, received his Early education at Dauphin. Man., leaving his studies in 1916 to join the 196th universities Bat Talion. He later transferred to the 46th battalion. Entering the civil Engineer ing course As a student Afler the War. He graduated in 1924 and was the Winner of the University Gold medal and he Dourm Gold medal m final year. Later he took graduate studies at the universities of Michigan and Manitoba and received the degree of master of science in 1931. Was appointed lecturer in civil in sneering at the University or Manitoba in 1924. And assistant professor in 1929 and associate professor in 1942. Calgary May 6 ;
