Titt x. 1949 sol this week end will see the majority of anglers hitting for the lakes and streams in search of fish and relaxation. The hot weather has crept into the fishing business during the past few weeks until today the majority Are reporting poor fishing. This ii to be expected. But last week end there was an exception. One party of anglers listed 28 Small mouthed Black Bass from the Waters of the Winnipeg River for the Best string we have heard of this year. John Brown Henry Bargen and Martin Essau of Headin Gly accompanied by John Marten jr., and Harry Gelhorn dropped their boat into the Rennie River and headed for the fast Waters of the Winnipeg River last sunday. Saturday had been poor but in a few hours they had 28 Bass plus Pickerel and Northern Pike. That s fishing for you. It is known of the Junior sportsmen of american sponsored by the state federa Tion. The purpose of the Junior sportsmen is to encourage these Young men to become True sportsmen and Good the boys Are taught the rudiments of safety skills sportsmanship and conserva Tion. Each group or club has a Leader who must be 21 years of age or older. Twenty five groups have been formed since the first of the year. Such groups have been attempted in Winnipeg in the past boys As leaders would be a Good idea coupled with the state idea and have failed to keep membership.
