One that has Jong been favored for this purpose is the Damson Plum and we re going to concentrate on ways of using these today. Although these plums Are mos often used for making jams there Are other products that May be made with them. Damson Are also Vised to some extent in Makin the Cook Irig is Jelly As Well As in making Plum butter and conserves. Very often Jam is made with these plums by merely cooking sugar. Then sometimes some water is used. We have a recipe for a Jam of the latter Type for you now. This is an extremely simple Jam done by the clock no Guesswork or Long years of experience is Nec Essary to Tell when it is done. There might be some objection to the amount of sugar required but if desired this might be reduced to As Little As 4 pounds. Pour into hot sterilized jars Seal with melted paraffin. Cover the jars with lids or tie paper Over them and store in a Cool place. This makes approximately e pounds of Jam or 3u quarts.
