In the Morris District i met about six families whom i consider representative of newcomers to can Ada who Are doing Well. I met the children of Hwo widows whose husbands disappeared one Day prisoners o the russians. They had been forced from their Homes in the don1 District in Southern Russia and spen about 10 years i refugee Camps before coming to Canada. I was unable to meet mrs. Ida Maier one of the widows because she was visiting relatives in Cal Gary and Vancouver. She Wen there with her eldest son who works for the Canadian Pacific railway. Her daughters were Home when i made the visit and they showed me through their clean five room House which they bought. The entire family worked hard and Savet their Money so they could make the first Down payment on it two or three months after arriving in Canada.
