Page 14 Winnipeg free press Friday August 29, 1952 adventure Bent teachers take off for Churchill to staff new army school school maiming at fort Churchill Man., is an adventure in store for a Trio of teachers who leave this week to join the staff of the army base s spanking new school. I they Are misses Therese Lavoie Anna Lockerby and Valdine John son who will teach grades three Lour and five respectively in the ten room school. All Are graduate of the provincial Normal schoo and have taught at other school in the province. Their new Home will be in a Block of the officers Barracks in which accommodation is provide for the forty girls who Are employed in offices and at the school on their arrival the army Wil Issue them with parkas ski Pant and flight boots. It s pure adventure for said miss Lavoie who has been on the staff of Greenway school for two years and also taught in Deloraine because Jour and Mccreary. Miss Johnson is the Only one of the Trio who has been at fort Churchill. She visited her sister last summer when her sister s husband was stationed there. Most of the living is she found with Many of the buildings connected by enclosed passageways she has taught at the Argyle school and is on leave of absence from the City staff.
