This is the considered opinion of a former easterner who has been living in Winnipeg for seven years. Wednesday she was still try ing to figure out what made the City unfriendly and she was no nearer a solution than seven years ago although the same two ideas kept chasing each other around in her mind. Winnipeg people May be Lieve that they got the Short end of the stick from the East during Thev depression and were exploited in some Way. Perhaps they developed a Dis Trust of anything Eastern including Eastern people who come to live Here and want to be friends. Or perhaps the City is grow ing and the people Are becom ing pseudo sophisticated with the City s a native of the Toronto Hamilton area so called unfriendly Belt she has lived in Ottawa and travelled across Canada so feels qualified to say she knows an unfriendly City when she sees it. She suggested that perhaps what Winnipeg needs is some kind of a. Say hello to your neighbor or have a Coffee with your neighbor Campaign.
