The railway had asked the courts to decide on the legality of an old agreement which exempted the railway from paying taxes to the City. In return the provincial govern ment having purchased the winning electric company would have a retd Over the City distribution system of the Winnipeg electric o the City Hydro. The end result of plan c would have been that he provincial government would have had a monopoly of All the Power plants on the Winnipeg River plus the steam stand by Plant of the City Hydro in Winnipeg.
