The smaller Angle brackets were placed about two inches from the front Edge of shelves and top and after painting were hardly noticeable. Sufficient space was allowed to manipulate the Radiator valve without skinning one s Knuckles. The hardboard Grille was hinged so one Leaf could be swung open to give Access to the control valve the other to make the air bleeder cock accessible. The Cabinet was fitted tightly against the Wall to Force the heat to leave through the front delivering warmth out into the room and mini Mizing the likelihood of dirt streaked Walls. A two Inch space was left Between the Radiator and the Bottom shelf As an Avenue of heat escape. The hardboard doors were Cut to leave three Inch vent ports at top and Bottom so cooler air could flow in at floor level As the air inside the enclosure was warmed and escaped out the top. Butt strips shown in the drawing give abundance sur face for the thin Grilles hinged to the Cabinet edges without Benefit of their own Frame work. Tie strips across the front of one by three Inch lumber were notched into the Short pieces screwed Flat against the inner sides of the Cabinet uprights. So that the whole Cabinet would fit Flat against the Wall the main Side members were scroll sawed to the contour of the mop Board and its molding. The Cabinet does t appear to have interfered in any Way with the Radiator s heat out put even through several Zero spells.
