Let Rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk. Bake in 425 f oven for 20 minutes or until baked. Makes 4 dozen. Hot Cross buns 1 cup scalded milk cup sugar 2 Tablespoons butter i Teaspoon Salt 1 cake yeast 34 cup lukewarm water Teaspoon cinnamon Teaspoon Nutmeg 4 Teaspoon cloves 3 cups sifted All purpose flour 1 egg Well beaten cup currants soften yeast in lukewarm water. Add butter sugar and Salt to scalded milk. Sift then Mea ure flour resist with spices. When milk mixture is lukewarm add dissolved yeast flour and egg. Add currants and thoroughly mix. Place in greased bowl grease top of dough cover with Towel and let Rise until Doublet in bulk. Shape into buns place in greased pan 1" apart. Cut a Cross on top of each Bun cover and let Rise until doubled in bulk. Brush with melted fat or beaten egg. Preheat oven to f. Bake 25 minutes. When Cool fill crosses with icing.
