The town is fringed with shacks and tents of the Chipewyan in howling sled dogs Are chained in the Flats Between the town and the port for they Are not allowed within 200 feet of a build ing. The town is the Centre if two religious orders. It is the Headquarters of the oblate fathers of the Hudson s Bay vicariate a roman Catholic order whose Mission spread North from throughout the Hudson s Bay area established in 1860 Rev. L. R.
