Fined for parking his car for four hours White said that s the last time i take her shop As this letter shows dear mrs. Thompson i am 41 and have been married 25 years. My husband is 14 years older than i am of a different Aith and nationality. I be tried my jest to make a go of our married Ife but without Success. During the War years when he was overseas my husband was involved in a scandal which he later admitted to me. He always keeps saying we were not Means for each other or suited. You might say be been Unap y All my mar life and stood alone. I Ost my Parent Sove for marrying o Young being an Only child. J have no children of my own. Mrs. Thompson during the War years i met a Man i fell desperately in love with. I went out with him and we both enjoyed each other s company. I have never forgotten him and can t forget him though it is 12 years now since i saw him. I miss him so and i la always love him. He also had a broken up marriage and suffered deeply too. He was the same age As i was. He suggested that we should get together but i was t free. My husband would t free me when he knew i had found some one else yet he broke our marriage up first. I had grounds for divorcing him but my Faith is roman Catholic and it would have meant hurting my parents More. Instead i sacrificed my life and went on living in sorrow pain and unhappiness. I wonder Many times if i did right or wrong to go on living this Way. I know i could have been Happy today with the Man loved. I constantly think of him and always will As my love for this Man is not a Young girl s dream just for a Day. I la always regret the mistake i made. This vision of my Friend is con before me. Please mrs Thompson judge my letter Hon Jestly and Tell me if i was wrong or not in choosing my life the Way i be done. Broken dreams your parents Are partly to blame for the mess. As you were Only 16, they could have prevented you from getting mar ried so Young by refusing their i consent. You say you have no Chil Dren so it was t a Shotgun wedding. I however you were consid Erab j by older when you made your decision not to go against your religious principles. You say you would have been very Happy with this other Man but Are you sure certainly if you had. Broken with your Church and married him your conscience might have pre vented you from being Happy. And if you had gone to live with him without marriage. Feelings of guilt and insecurity might have haunted you. You would have had no Legal or moral claim on the Man if he had decided to leave you. Stop daydreaming about him All the time. You Aren t a romantic girl any More and should face the fact that he undoubtedly has found somebody else in 12 years and is living with her whether married or not. There is no need to forget him. You can be grate Ful for the experience of knowing him and count it one of the Bright spots in your life. But also Tell yourself firmly that the chapter is closed. Have a talk with your priest and try to get your thinking straightened out. Also discuss whether something can t be done to bring More happiness. You Are Only 41, with no children to consider. A Job might be a god Send. Perhaps you. Have no special skills when you married so Young but you could take training or even find a Market for some of your talents. Could you become a nurses aide sales clerk Telephone operator housekeeper you May feel justified in Leav ing your husband and supporting yourself. Or. If you face facts squarely and admit there is Little Chance of seeing your again you. Might be Able to in drove relations with your Hus band.
