The associated press average of 60 stocks at noon was Down 1.40 to 208.50. Blue chips and growth issues skidded indiscriminately. Montreal a plunge in Banks led stocks lower on the Montreal and can Adian exchanges near noon wednesday. Trading was Active among industrials and Light in mines. Hudson s Bay company was unchanged at 10. Of Index Banks were off 1.63 at 85.21, utilities up 0.1 at 130.6, industrials off 1.8 at 296.6, combined off 1.2 at 241.2, papers of 1.4 at 471.9 and golds up 0.85 at 76.01.
