Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - August 8, 1963, Winnipeg, Manitoba 14 Village recreates the past Jacques de Chambly que. Visit to this historical Village 15 Miles East of Montreal is truly a visit to the past. Here among authentically re stored buildings of the French and Early English regimes in Quebec everything is from the past furniture China Glass paintings kitchenware and even the tools and techniques used by the workmen. A Quebec government Grant will enable workers to carry on their task of transporting old buildings to the Chambly site and restoring them. Five buildings were completed during the last Winter and directors of the project con Sider them far More important than Mere tourist attractions. Because these historic Homes Are fast disappearing from our province through neg Lect or demolition we feel the Jacques de Chambly Village will become increasingly important to the study and under standing of our said curator Antoine Prevost.
