Sept. 5 the Glendale country club. Bob Hope is the National chair Man of the City of Hope a Pilo medical research Centre out sic los Angeles California. Man other famous people Are Amon the sponsors. Irvine Goldman of new York who was honoured As Man of the year by the City of Hope at a recent dinner in new York Wil speak at the Glendale club lunch Eon. The City of Hope is a non Sec tarian Hospital which specialized in children s catastrophic Dis eases such As leukaemia and heart conditions. It accepts patients from All Over the world free of charge. A Winnipeg Man is among the Hospital s patients. Patients Are cared for in Pri vate and Semi private rooms and the Parent accompanying the child is Given free lodging in a Motel on the Hospital grounds. In its research Section the Hospital has perfected new operations for cancer. At present the Only Canadian chapters of the City of Hope Are in Montreal and Toronto. Mrs. Maxwell Moss 210 Oxford Street and mrs. Samuel l Lazareck 620 Queenston Street Are in charge of arrangements for the september luncheon they Are hoping 150 women will attend.
