Winnipeg press saturday february 22, 1964 step up integration in schools Mol Gat opposition Leader Gildas Mol Gat Rose urged the Manitoba government Friday night to take More vigorous Steps with local school District boards to create More integrated schools in the province where Indian and White children could be educated jointly. The government he said should not wait for individual school boards to make the first move but the province must take the initial Steps. Or. Mol Gat made the statement in the Manitoba legislature Fri Day during discussion on the government s 1964 estimates. The opposition Leader added that resistance could be expected from the various school District boards but the provincial depart ment of education must take an Active part and work out financial details in the various areas.
