They Don t sell Playboy Magazine at the Newsstands but you can pick up copies of the controversial Frank Harris Book my life and speaking of the Royal tour Pierre Berton with whom i chatted said the Csc showed Only the Good parts of the tour. We did t see policemen struggling with spectators. I think these things were deliberately left the outspoken Berton also predicted that this will be the last Royal tour Canada will Ever see. If they can t come to Quebec they can t come to Canada. It s As simple As Jack Shapira the former president of station a Jim Here denied this week that the station was Ever in trouble before it was sold. That s the Sugges Tion that has been made in news stories he Indica Ted hut said flatly one of these Days i m going to Tell the real Story behind the Sale of people and places one of the potential new local stars is Ray St. Germaine who has been hosting the Winnipeg Seg ment of music hop on Channel 3. She s not Only a terrific Folk Singer but a very Brainy woman. Miss Travis is a fierce Oppon ent of sen. Barry Goldwater and when she Speaks of him you can see the fire flashing from her eyes. What surprised me is that she has made a comprehensive study of Europe since the end of the second world War and is concerned about the return of Money and Power to Large companies like Krupp and i. G. Far Ben. When she gives up Folk singing she could easily go on a lecture tour expounding her theories which Are extremely sound.
