Saturday january 23, 1965 11 i f in Canadian made women s fashions went on Parade Friday at the Queen Elizabeth hotel in Montreal. The show called the National collection displayed the wares of one Hundred manufacturers in Montreal Toronto Winnipeg Edmonton and Vancouver. The show sponsored by the International ladies garment workers Union As a promotion clothing made in Union shops was staged for an invited audience of journalists and buyers. Above summer evening dress of printed Linen which blends into Candy Stripe in Pink yellow and White with Matching stole. Roped beading in same colors is used for shoulder straps and to outline stripes. Ruth Dukas of Toronto. Upper left briefest of Thorh in Whit Cotton topped by casual shirt of striped polished Cotton. By White Stag of Edmonton. Lower left coat in new Skinny line of Diagonal weave Wool with under Arm panel seaming and High fasten ing Collar. By National cloak of Winnipeg. Upper right pleated skirt and jacket in checked Black and White pure silk worn with pin Dot Blouse in same Black and White an example of fabric combination now in fashion.
