Mrs. Gurney Evans elected president anniversary pageant for Centenary year by Brenda Large Ottawa National Council of women is to Cele brate its 75th anniversary in 1967 with a historical pageant which it Hopes to have made into a film. Mrs. H. H. Steen of Vancou ver the Council s president said i an interview thursday that the pageant will be held during the annual meeting of support q j a a f Ottawa the executive of the National Council of women has approved a Resolution supporting the Transfer of the member women s organization at Montreal in the summer of 1967. We really Aren t a 75-year old federation until 1968, but Bhe members have decided they would like to Combine the Cele bration of the anniversary with our Centennial of Conedera she said the pageant would depict scenes from the Canada of 100 years ago and would particularly emphasize the role of women in the Early Days of the country. We Are hoping that the National film Board might make a film of the pageant so that it could be preserved for future the film Board had not yet been approached about the idea which was approved at the National Council s executive meeting earlier this week.
