Of the 20 racers from Winni Peg flin flon and Thompson who took part Mcneil had the fastest first run through the flags. He was clocked at 20.1 seconds. With a second run of 19 seconds Flat the flin flon skier s total time was 39.1. Karaim a Kenora ont., racer skied a 21-second first run and then belted through the course in 18.1 seconds fastest time posted to come up with the Iden tical time of 39.1 seconds. Fun flon slalom racer p. Gryzlo was second with 25.1 and 21.1 for a 46.2 second total. Tim Nosworthy a 14-year-old Junior competitor from the Winnipeg club ended in third spot Souris locks series Carman special Carman beavers clipped Winkler royals 6-3 in a South Eastern Manitoba hockey league game before 500 Carman Arena fans sunday afternoon. On saturday night in an inter mediate a hockey league play Down game Carman lost a close 2-1 decision to Souris elks. The series is tied at one game each. Carman opened the series with a 3-1 Victory. Six players evenly shared car Man s sunday scoring Effort. Counters came from Chip hand Denny Hunter a Clearwater Gladwin Scott Isaac Bergen and Wayne Fawcett. The main reason for this decision was the extreme cold and the fact that the Winnipeg ski ers were due to Board an air plane for Home shortly after the race finished. The Winnipeg racers who took part were in a group of 28 City skiers who travelled by chartered trans air dc-3 to the nor Thern mining town for the week end. It was the first trip of its kind taken by skiers in Mani Toba.
