Forecast a Little Milder 10 and 35 Leishman gets extra 7 years pleads guilty to 2 escapes will now serve 13 years William Kenneth Leishman has been sentenced to seven years in Stony Mountain Penitentiary on charges arising from an escape sept. 1 from heading Ley 3ail and for escaping sunday from the Vaughan Street detention Centre in Winnipeg. Leishman appeared in provincial magistrate s court tuesday and re elected trial by magistrate. He pleaded Security inquiry sought guilty to seven charges. The sentence will be served in addition to six years he still has to serve for a Toronto Bank Rob Bery in 1958. He was out on parole when charged in connection with the Airport Gold Rob Bery last Winter Leishman appeared before magistrate Harold Gyles tues Day dressed in a dark Brown suit and without his familiar neat Mustache. He wore Bandage on his left wrist. Crown counsel Bay Flett told the court that Leishman was arrested March 9 for breach of parole and was taken to head Ingley jail. He told court that Leishman directed the activities of other inmates who also escaped from heading Ley sept. 1, and was obviously in charge. Or. Flett gave details of the escape and told the court that Leishman was armed during the escape. Leishman and other inmates had tied up several guards and locked them in the cells. At one stage Leishman had tried to open the Gate leading to the exercise Yard. Or. Flett said this apparently was an attempt to create confusion by having As Many inmates As possible run Ning around.
