At a weekend Synod of the Rupert s land diocese of the anglican Church delegates pin pointed problems and sent a Resolution to the province urging action. Raymond Slough director of corrections for Manitoba said faults the Synod delegates found in the correctional system were real. But Steps Are being taken to counter most of them. There is a dearth of qualified diagnostic and treat ment personnel to handle either adults or juveniles magistrates in Manitoba Are not permitted to sentence an alcohol offender to a treat ment Centre Indian and Metis inmates find it difficult to talk to the White correctional officials.
