The exact number of schools to offer the course is not Yei known. The new program is nol Home economics As it has been taught in the past. Instruction in practical Home manage ment will be left to the lower grades. The new course will take the social approach focussing on the family the Community and the history of societies. A comprehensive study will be made of Canadian family Cul Tures. The idea that the Well being of the family is vital to that of the Community at Large will be stressed. Housing will be treated As a major family problem. The relative effects of affluence and poverty will also. Be investigated including a study of Canada s anti poverty program. A spokesman for vegetable grow ers said wednesday a few cases of local transplanted cauliflower lad been Cut but a Good Supply could be expected about july 15. The same holds True for cabbage. New cabbage from British Columbia and Ontario is on the produce stalls now but vill be replaced by locally grown in the next 10 Days. Price is now 10 to 15 cents ent. Zucchini remains at 29 cents a Pound. Sone Are very Small and others resemble outsize cucumbers Ontario Hothouse cucumbers Are 20 to 29 cents each. Skins Are smooth and there Are not too Many seeds i tomatoes Are 29 to 49 cents a Pound. They Are of medium size the majority Ripe for immediate use. New potatoes either red or White skinned varieties sell at 69 to 89 cents bag. Ontario berries in strawberries and gooseberries from Ontario were to be ready for Sale today. Strawberries sell at 59 cents a while the California berries Are 39 and 49 cents a pint. Gooseberries Are 49 cents a pint. The Mam crop of Canadian strawberries goes to the processors for jams and Quick freezing. Bing and Van variety cherries from British Columbia Are offered at All fruit stalls. Price is 65 to 79 cents a Pound. The fruit is a Good size and quite Sweet. Watermelon remains a Good buy at 68 to weights vary from nine to 15 pounds. Variety is Charleston Grey.
