Westmoreland lashes out at critics foreign news exclusive by George Wilson Washington special tons Gen. William c. Westmoreland lashed out tuesday at reports that the United states has abandoned the defence of the Khe Sanh area. The former Viet Nam commander and present army chief of staff said in an interview that the Khe Sanh plateau is still very much defended but by diff Erent tactics. He added that these tac tics make it unlikely that . Troops on that plateau will be forced to Hole up again Khe Sanh style when the bad weather hits the Western Edge of the demilitarized zone around january. The marines Gen. West Moreland said have adopted the army air cavalry division s tactic of relying on helicopter mobility rather than Static firepower. Troops under these air cavalry tactics dig in on Mountain tops so they can sleep on the High ground at night beat by Dehy King in the larger Winnipeg beverage rooms it would seem the style of entertainment is evolving.
