But the most pleasant Surprise of All came yesterday morn ing when i received a Brown Manila envelope containing All the Little stories the children had written about me. I wish i could print them All but Here Are some excerpts which really got to me when John Robertson finished school he did t know what he would be. He stumbled onto his newspaper Job by Accident. He did t have any training at All for the business. He stumbled on the radio business quite by Accident too. When he is talking on the radio he can t erase mistakes like he can when he writes a column or. Robertson got into the business when he wanted to be a sports player and could t he was a picture in baseball while he was coaching Little league baseball he used to write four or five sentences about his team. The newspapermen read those sentences and gave him a Job he is the most sports mad person i have Ever seen he says he is 35 but maybe he is not. You no How some people Don t like to Tell their age he is a very Good co Lenest writer. It takes him a while to think what he wants to write about. But when he does it Only takes him an hour to write it he is not sure where his ideas for writing the columns come from still More he says he has a lot of fans and a lot of Well you know haters he sometimes gets 15 to 20 letters a Day and lots of phone Calls. One lady told him to gargle with Cement and let it Harden. If that in t an insult what is on the radio program he tries to help people and gets j complaints about cats howling at night he has tried to write poetry but can t get the words to or. Robertson says people with problems should turn and Tell them there problems. You know something i think i agree with or. Robertson one of or. Robertson s Brothers is married and he has 16 children. I say that is a lot of nobody s really Lucky but this one of his Brothers has 16 children or. Robertson is very happily married to a Beautiful wife and he has two children Patty 6, and Timmy 4 to he also has a Sheperd that is very close to a human being he name is Cindy. The kids throw things at him and hit him and Pinch her ears but she really likes it he said his wife helps him with his Job. We did t believe him until he explained what she does for him wakes up at . And is served breakfast in bed at 15 to six his wife used to work As a Secretary but she does t do anything now _ mrs. Robertson does , but she answers his phone Calls Day and night he is a Lucky person because he has a Beautiful Young wife along with two children who Are Lucky to have such a kind and generous father likes golfing swimming and a few other things his writings grew and grew and he Fin ally became a writer for the free press he is a Nice Young Man but he was Lucky he got this he plays Golf but not very a boy in my class has a Mother and or. Robertson remembers her since he was a he never went to University. He Only has Grade do you remember my Mother that makes two mothers and yes i do she remembers you and she wanted me to ask when he went to High school he had no ambition. In a news release wednesday Canadian breweries said h hourly employees being released will receive payment under the guaranteed wage plan which provides for continuance of up to 65 per cent of Normal earnings for the majority of employees up to a maximum of 78 weeks. The company said payments to the majority of employees would be close to to not counting unemployment insurance benefits. There would also be a separation payment of one week salary for each completed year of service and a reimbursement of the unused weeks of the guaranteed wage a spokesman said. The brewing company also said it would work with govern ment agencies to help released employees find other jobs.
