Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - June 13, 1969, Winnipeg, Manitoba 20 Winnipeg free press Friday Juns 13, 1969 hints from by Heloise Cruse dear Heloise while we were camping last summer we discovered a wonderful use for a Hula hoop. You can easily hang a heavy Shower curtain on one of these hoops and string it to a nearby tree for an extra dressing room. Just snap the Metal Hooks through the curtain Gromm cos and onto the hoop. Easy As one two three and it gives you All the privacy you needed. Mrs. 1iegh Well raise the Flag and ring the Bell. If that in t the Cleverest idea i be heard for a Long while thanks mrs. Hegh for sharing it with other Camp ing enthusiasts. Heloise dear Heloise it has always been a problem for me to clean the openings of my sink and Basin drains. Cleaning products clean the pipes further Down but the grease that collects just inside the openings and around the dividers is so hard to remove. I now use an old bottle Brush. This slides Down be tween the dividers easily and the handle is Long enough to clean All the Way Down to the Bend in the pipe. It just takes a minute and it is such a satisfaction to know that i have really cleaned the drains. Ruth Mcallister Bear Heloise there s an old saying that i am reminded of whenever one of your hints strikes me As being instantly applicable i thought i was behind before but now i m first at mrs. E. C. Poole dear Heloise Here s a suggestion that was Given to me by a fashion Model. Whenever she loses one earring she keeps the remaining one and saves these singles in a separate bag. When enough singles have accumulated she buys an inexpensive wide Belt removes the clips or Crew backs from the ear rings and studs the Belt with the unmatched earrings sew ing them on with an upholsterer a Needle. Then she covers the stitching on the underside of the Belt with a continuous strip of press on mending tape. The effect is dazzling mrs. Earle Ferris dear Heloise i make miniature Popsicle is for the real Small Fry. I pour the liquid into nut cups inserting half a pop Side stick in the juice before freezing. It s just the right amount for them to eat and handle and the cup peels off Quick and easy from the Frozen juice. Grandma dear Heloise about uie nifty est thing i Ever saw on a private fishing raft or Dock was an idea that came from a Friend of mine. He must have gotten tired of carrying his fishing tackle from his Cabin to the Shore because he bought a coot locker at a surplus store bolted it Down to his Dock and padlocked it. This Way he could leave his inexpensive equipment right on the Dock. Not Only was it Good to keep from carrying All those Little old fishing extras from the Cabin to the Dock but when he got tired of standing up while fishing he could sit on it. I do not suggest that anyone leave expensive fish ing equipment in a Footlocker on a Dock but gosh was t that a wonderful idea . I m with you Why stand when we can sit. I be found it takes those fish a Long time to bite someday. In fact some times they just Don t.
