The committee which will be made up of brotherhood Mem Bers will research the rights of Indian people with specific reference to treaty rights Hunt Jing rights fishing rights and rights to other government services. The brotherhood also asked that financial resources for the investigations be supplied by the Federal government according to the brotherhood budget. Not acceptable in a statement issued at the end of the meeting brotherhood president Walter Dieter said it is evident that the Federal government s Indian policy is not. Acceptable to any of the Indian people in Canada. He said that every provincial Leader rejected the policy and each Leader requested the Feder Al government for sufficient time to study the matter and make recommendations to Ottawa. All leaders say they and their followers refuse to meet with Indian affairs minister Jean Chretien or any government officials until they have been Given sufficient time to com plete their own studies and make their own recommendations.
