August 8. 1969 dear folks i was waiting in a doctor s office the other Day and was fascinated to see How one father kept his 18-month-Oid child from being bored. The father had a Small paper cups and was teaching the baby How to squeeze his plastic baby bottle and get a few squirts into the cup and then take his own sip of milk what a wonderful Way n train a child to drink instead of taking his bottle away from him All at once. The association Between the bottle and the cup not Only made the baby laugh but As he drank it he did t spill a drop. This would be a nifty idea for babies who sit in High chairs in the Kitchen while Mother is working. Just look at the training he will be giving himself. And no enormous spills for mommie to clean up. Heloise dear Heloise when we ran out of bread the other Day i made a great discovery. Instead of Toast under your soft or poached eggs use some Herb seasoned stuffing. It soaks up some of the juices and still stays Crisp. 1 use it now even when i do have bread Barbara Miller dear Heloise i was really brought up Short the other Day and perhaps it was Good for me to learn this. About a week ago my three children went to visit friends for a week. I thought this was really going to be great As i would have so much m time for myself but it did t work out that Way at All. Mrs. G. G. Dear Heloise Here s a great idea for getting out of a Back zippered dress All by your self. I took a Plain old wire coat Hanger and pulled it out Lengthwise leaving a Hook on one end. This will leave a Hanger about two feet Long and three inches wide. Place the Hook tip through the Slot or Hole in the Zipper Tab and slowly pull the Zipper up or Down with the right hand using the Hanger Hook As a Pulley. Instant Success. Sure saves me a lot of spillage besides always opening the Salt Box.
