This time it was the Zion apostolic Church 335 Pacific Avenue. The fire produced billowing columns of smoke that could be seen for Miles. At the height of the two alarm fire More than six fire trucks and two snorkel trucks poured thousands of Gallons of water onto the 66-year-old building. Men from the Winnipeg fire department fought the flames from the roof of a manse adjoining the Church and from ladders against the front of the burning building. At one Point the huge dome shaped roof Over the Church auditorium fell into the blazing Interior sending a Shower of Sparks into the air. At one time about 30 people were in the building. They were conducting a choir practice. The choir members first tried to douse the flames but were unsuccessful and were forced to flee the building.
