Both factors will result from Steps being taken to reduce outflow at the Norman dam at Kenora from cubic feet per second to cos a rate Likely to remain constant for the Winter. The Lake of the Woods control Board is concerned that travellers on the ice will fail to realize the new dangers being posed by water control measures and urge extreme caution. While the dam is being closed in Kenora the outflow at fort Frances will be in creased again. Power generation at fort Frances is still at a reduced scale due to the High water level in the Rainy River below the dam. Resort area Lodge to get govt. Loan Kenora ont. Special Forest Lake Lodge a Northwestern Ontario Hunting and fishing resort will receive a Northern Ontario. Development corporation tourist Industry loan. A new Structure with an enlarged dining room and a recreational Wing will re place the existing mail Lodge. Guests accommodation will be winterized and renovated. Improvements will enable the resort to attract family business and lengthen the operating season. Gordon Therrien owner and manager will also build a Sawmill a Short distance from the Lodge providing additional Winter employment. The Lodge is located in the Mclntosh area. Northwest Ontario Hunting excellent Kenora evidence of exceptionally Good Hunting prevailing in Northwestern on Tario this Yaar is provided by the increased numbers of game exported at International Falls Minn. These figures including game shot in the fort Frances Kenora and Sioux Lookout districts show that Moose Deer bears grouse and geese were All exported in greater numbers in 1971 than in 1970. Only ducks which were exceptionally numerous last year Are less abundant this year.
