He said the increase on these two items also extended to Cash and carry stores and the Price in the stores and Home delivery was the same. The spokesman gave a list which he said most dairies Are following on cottage cheese an eight ounce package Rose from 28 to 30 cents a 12-Otuice Pac Kage from 37 to 39 cents 16 ounce package from 46 48 cents and a 32-Ouncc package from 68 to 70 cents. A spokesman for modern dairies which controls Stan Dard Crescent and Medo land dairies confirmed that the Price Range the Lakeland spokesman referred to was a general raise by dairies serving Winnipeg and area. However the Lakeland spokesman said they had raised their Price of chocolate milk delivered to the iome to 38 from 36 cents a quart. The modern spokesman said his companies had not raised this item. Also Lakeland said it had raised the Price of one half per cent Silver Jersey partly skim milk sold in plastic pouches to 28 from 25 cents a quart. He said no other local dairies carry this item. A spokesman for people s co operative Ltd. Said it had Fol Lowed the other dairies in the two cent increase on products. He also indicated there might be an increase in operating costs of the Dairy because of a Union contract to be negotiated around june 3. Last month the Manitoba milk control Board announced it was freeing the Price of Home delivered milk from its former 32 cent a quart top Price and would allow it to seek its own level. However the Cash and carry milk at stores which had been Selling at 30 cents a quart was still pegged to a top Price of 32 cents a quart. The Board s decision had no effect Over the sundry products of the dairies which were never subject to the Price controls of the milk Board. These items Are free to seek their own level at the discretion of the dairies themselves. The control of the milk Board in prices includes both the re Tail outlets and the producers Price of milk and fluid milk in the Winnipeg Brandon and por Tage la Prairie areas
