Muller of St. Buu face confirmed part of the Man s Story but said the circumstances leading up to the incident had prompted the presence of the policemen and the shot guns. He said the events Lead ing up to the arrest began about . Monday As t w o St. Vital policemen were returning from St. Boniface after chasing a car for a traffic offence. Chief Muller said the St. Vital policemen noticed two men attempting to Force the doors of a St. Mary s Road business establishment and kept them under observation. The two men then crossed the Roadway and met a third Man in the shadows of a building the chief said. One of the policemen noticed one of the suspects had a revolver in his hand and St. Boniface police were called for assistance. When help arrived the chief said the three men were arrested and taken to the St. Boniface police Sta Tion where the revolver was found to be a Carbon dioxide pistol. The chief said that under questioning the three men gave their address As the place where the 20-year-old Man and his wife lived and one of them said he ran a boarding House there. He gave permission for police to conduct a search at that address and two constables were dispatched. They took shotguns along because there was a revolver involved in the incident and they did t know what they d find at the boarding chief Muller said. When the policemen entered the boarding House they went into a room where they found a couple in bed. The chief said the Man showed the policemen through the House and that one of the officers recognized him As one for whom a Bench warrant had been issued. The Man was arrested and taken to jail. Since a warrant had been issued for his arrest the Man could t be released before appearing in court the next morning the chief said. He said the Man was to have appeared in St. Boni f a c e magistrate s court april 7 to pay the parking ticket. When he did t appear a warrant was issued for his arrest. The chief said the Man had t been arrested earlier because the address on the warrant was t the one at which the Man now lived. When the Man appeared in court monday morning he told his Story and the charges against him were dropped. Commenting on his arrest the Man said he asked the two policemen in his room what was going on but there was no re h e commented that they seemed like a Bunch of trigger Happy he said be was confused by the police visit because i Don t have any police record i never will have one. I m just working for an honest living i can t understand something like this if they d come to the door during the Day and said they had a search War rant or whatever i would be done whatever they d said.
